‘Jeopardy!’ fans outraged after all three contestants get stumped on this prayer question

Many “Jeopardy!” fans were outraged after none of the contestants knew this easy prayer question — “It speaks volumes about Americans and their faith…”

The recent episode of a highly popular quiz show, Jeopardy!, raised doubts about Americans and their beliefs when three contestants couldn’t answer a seemingly simple question about Christianity.

During the episode on June 13, there was a question in the category “dadjectives”. The question was about a verse from Matthew 6:9 which says, “Our Father Which Art In Heaven, This ‘Be Thy Name’”. The contestants were expected to answer “hallowed” or “what is hallowed” according to the quiz rules, but they didn’t. This apparently made a lot of fans very angry.

None of the Jeopardy contestants last night knew the answer to this…Are you awake now?

Growing up, knowing The Lord’s Prayer was similar to knowing The Pledge of Allegiance. It was something you simply did, as one person mentioned.

Another person commented that although it might not signal the apocalypse, it certainly says a lot about Americans and their beliefs, or lack thereof.

People couldn’t help but wonder why they all failed to notice such a clear sign.

One Twitter user mentioned, “Even though I’m an atheist, I knew the answer to that question about the Lord’s prayer.”

My niece, who is 4 years old, knew the answer to that Jeopardy question! I wonder if the contestants are familiar with The Lord’s Prayer?

It’s funny how those Jeopardy! enthusiasts don’t know the answer. Haven’t they ever heard the Iron Maiden song “Hallowed Be Thy Name”?

Despite the question being straightforward, a few viewers claimed that the contestants probably didn’t answer because they had low scores. It’s possible that they decided to be cautious instead of taking a chance and falling even further behind.

Some people think that the quiz has too many questions about Christianity, considering that the contestants have different religious backgrounds. This could be another reason why they didn’t answer a seemingly easy question.

None of the three competitors knew the Lord’s Prayer, but they were more knowledgeable about ’70s movies. The final question was about an actor who starred in the top 2 bestselling albums of 1978. They correctly answered Travolta, John, who was in Grease and Saturday Night Fever. Suresh Krishnan, the winner, now has a six-game winning streak.
